The visit typically begins with the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, a remarkable underground necropolis blending Egyptian, Greek, and Roman art and architecture. Descend into a series of chambers, sarcophagi, and carved reliefs, showcasing the fusion of ancient cultures.
Next, the Serapeum of Alexandria—once a grand temple dedicated to the Greco-Egyptian god Serapis—now features the impressive Pompey’s Pillar, a towering Roman triumphal column standing alone amid the ruins.
The tour continues at the Roman Amphitheater, Egypt’s only known Roman theatre, with well-preserved marble seating, mosaic flooring, and remnants of Roman baths and lecture halls nearby.
This visit offers a compact yet rich exploration of Alexandria’s layered past, set against the backdrop of its breezy Mediterranean atmosphere
